Welcome Back OM/BUMI! (email 7/29/24)

Hello Oak Meadow and BUMI Families, 

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! It is an honor to introduce myself as the new principal of Oak Meadow and Buckeye Union Mandarin Immersion schools. Previous to this position, I was the principal at Blue Oak Elementary in our district and this move feels like returning home as my first two years in the classroom were at Oak Meadow. I am so excited to welcome all of the students to school on our first day which is Thursday, August 8th, 2024. Our awesome Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will be hosting a popsicle party after school on the first day. We hope you can join us at the lunch tables under the shade structure to celebrate! 

Our new student information system, Alma, will open on Tuesday, August 6th at 4:00pm. At that time you will receive an email from Alma (notifications@getalma.com) with login information. When you log in you will be able to view teacher assignments for the coming school year. This is also the system where you will update your child’s basic and contact information, emergency contact information, and acknowledge the Parent/Guardian Rights information and the School Handbook. You may find it helpful to visit our school website for Oak Meadow at www.omes.buckeyeusd.org or BUMI at www.bumi.buckeyeusd.org where you will find lots of information including our 2024-2025 Parent/Student Handbook, calendars, bell-schedules, and other important information. 

Reminder: Medication forms MUST be renewed each year and signed by the child’s physician.  Forms are available under the Health Forms/Information section on the school websites.

We look forward to meeting parents at our Back to School Night events. PTO has arranged for a mobile fingerprinting service to be in attendance for those who have not been fingerprinted with the District and would like to volunteer on site. If you are interested in this service the cost is $74 and payable by cash or card. Please save the appropriate date for Back to School Night: 

• Oak Meadow TK-3rd and BUMI ALL grades - Wednesday, August 7th, 2024
  • TK-1st teacher presentations in classrooms 5:30-6:05
  • PTO and Principal welcome in multipurpose room 6:10-6:20
  • 2nd-5th teacher presentations in classrooms 6:25-7:00
• Oak Meadow 4th-5th - Tuesday, August 13th, 2024 start in the multipurpose room at 5:30

I look forward to a great school year with our Raptors and Pandas and their families! Support from families plays a large part in the success of students. You and your child are a part of this dynamic team and together we will accomplish great things.  The Oak Meadow/BUMI team is looking forward to welcoming back returning students and getting to know the students and families who are new to us this year.
